The aim of the Wolverhampton City Sports Advisory Council is to work with local sports clubs, national governing bodies, the City of Wolverhampton Council and other partners to help more people to participate in sport and physical activity in Wolverhampton and to celebrate the success of sports people, clubs and leagues in the city.
Community Grant Funding
Funding Criteria
- Sports Club or League based in the City of Wolverhampton Boundary Find your local council – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- Funding request will be for either::
a. Coaching and Officiating Fund – Support towards coaching or officiating training/ accreditation costs,
b. Participation Fund – Support towards grassroot participation for new audiences within your club or league such as: women and girls, older adults, people living with a disability or long-term health condition, people from low socio-economic backgrounds, people from ethnic diverse communities, people who are currently physically inactive.
- Maximum award £500 per fund
Documents required with the application
- Confirmation your club is affiliated to a National Governing Body (NGB)
(This may be checked by the funders). - Confirmation that your club/ organisation is supporting this application.
One application per year per club or league for each fund.

Funding Conditions
- To complete an end of project review within three months and forward to vicechair.wsac@gmail.com
- To promote that the source of funding was the Wolverhampton Sports Advisory Group via your club website, social media or any other communication channel
